Chico, California
Sierra Nevada has a new brew hitting the shelves nation wide this month. With the perfection that is Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale it is sometimes easy to forget that they have a lineup full of amazing beers, both dark and hoppy. The newest offering to their yearly lineup is Otra Vez, a gose-style ale brewed with cactus and grapefruit, both native to California.
Sierra Nevada is definitely not the first to mass produce the ever growing popular style gose, but they got it right with this one. Light and tart with a hint of salt, the cactus and grapefruit add an underlying tang that makes for one refreshing sessionable brew. Available in 12 oz cans and bottles Otra Vez will be a staple come the Spring and Summer months here in Chicago. If you don’t want to wait until the warmer months, grab a six pack and Spring will seem like it is right around the corner.
