One of the first companies to introduce cannabis-infused beverages in the country, Uncle Arnie’s has been around the block. Starting during the legacy recreation market in California, Uncle Arnie’s added THC-infused beverages to its lineup around 2020.

Battle-hardened by the ups and downs of the ground-zero cannabis market on the West Coast, Uncle Arnie’s has always been flexible and agile, according to CCO Jeff Bull. Developing a hemp-based beverage line “supercharged” Uncle Arnie’s.

“The enormous amounts of change have been radical,” says Bull, who now sees relatives who wouldn’t touch cannabis cracking a can and realizing they can enjoy a great experience without being the bong-ripping stoners of years past.

With the motto “Life’s a trip. Drink it up,” Uncle Arnie’s tries to remind us in a low-key, approachable way that “so much is happening in life, and more often than not, we are always stressed about XYZ,” says Hassan. “There’s no stopping time, but that shouldn’t stop you. You might as well have fun.”

That’s where Uncle Arnie’s comes in.

“Have fun,” says Hassan. “That’s all it boils down to.”

Like the fun uncle we all want or already have in our lives, Uncle Arnie’s isn’t born out of one person specifically, but rather an amalgamation of characters.

“We needed a guide,” says Bull, who came up with the idea of this fun uncle. “Uncle Arnie is the guy who comes along and educates you on cannabis and brews up something new; he’s always got something cooking in the back of his bus.”

With a soft spot for Saturday morning cartoons and nineties nostalgia, Bull created Uncle Arnie to transport you to somewhere new, to somewhere different.

“When I say Uncle Arnie’s brings the party,” says Bull, “we want to bring fun.”

Fun comes first at Uncle Arnie’s, followed quickly by flavor. “We’re unabashed about that,” exclaims Bull.

To live up to its “Life’s a trip. Drink it up” tagline, Uncle Arnie’s developed a line of nostalgic, hemp-infused beverages and portable Power Shots.

Including six flavors, Uncle Arnie’s classic drinks range from Iced Tea Lemonade to Strawberry Lemonade to Zen Magic Tea. Think of this lineup as core flavors wired into the vibe of the turn of the millennium.

The best-selling Iced Tea Lemonade is a crowd favorite and, actually, why Hassan started working for Uncle Arnie’s. An Arnold Palmer enthusiast, Hassan drank the Iced Tea Lemonade as a litmus test. If he had found any bitter aftertaste or weediness in the drink, Hassan says he wouldn’t have been able to stand behind the product.

“When I drank that,” he tells us. “It was insane. It tasted so good—just like iced tea lemonade.”

Think of the OG drink as similar to a Snapple—crisp, citrusy, and a bit sweet and tart.

Another tried-and-true customer favorite, the Strawberry Lemonade has killed it over the summer and fall. With zero sugar and a low amount of calories, this throwback to a nineties summer on the beach is “the most go-to for a chill evening,” says Hassan, “just sitting by the pool, the deck, the fireplace with a Strawberry Lemonade in your hand.”

Three of the flavors Bull calls functional, helpful with stress relief or sleep, while the other three are “just fun, super fruity, flavor-forward, like down the hatch!”

Personally, Hassan loves the Sunrise Orange and Blueberry Nightcap Power Shots.
