Mikkeller Running Club, one of the most popular running clubs in the world, announced that As Is will be the official Manhattan chapter for MRC. This Wednesday, March 21, is the inaugural run with a 5-mile or 8-mile option. Those interested in taking part should meet at As Is at 6:30 pm. Afterward, all runners can enjoy a free beer and As Is will tap the first keg of NY-brewed Mikkeller beer.
Running clubs taking up residence at bars and breweries is a growing trend, and membership is one of the only proven ways to drink beer and avoid a beer gut. “We’re really excited to be the official Mikkeller Running Club Manhattan chapter,” As Is co-founder and MRC captain Benjamin Pratt shared. “There are so many great runners in New York City. It’s a great community of runners and beer fans.”
The running club will meet at the Hells Kitchen bar every Wednesday and all runners are welcome. Check As Is’s social media for future announcements, including a special event on Sunday, 3/25/18.
