Anomaly: The Award-Winning THC Seltzer Taking Flavor Exploration to New Galaxies
The next frontier.
If Bottle Logic built its reputation by pushing the boundaries of beer, Anomaly is where that same spirit blasts off into the THC universe. The new Delta-9 social seltzer from the masterminds behind some of the most creative, stunning barrel-aged beers and smoothie sours is rocketing flavor exploration into a whole new galaxy.
Think of Anomaly as the convergence of two worlds: award-winning flavor mastery and an evolving drinking culture that’s shifting away from booze and toward something lighter, brighter, and a lot more fun.
When Bottle Logic and Anomaly Co-Founder CEO Wes Parker noticed drinkers reaching for alternatives, he did what any flavor-obsessed explorer would do—he hit the road. From Wisconsin to Ohio, Parker taste-tested his way through the Midwest’s booming THC beverage scene, sampling over thirty brands before returning home to California with one mission: Make something better.
And he did. Anomaly launched with four flavors—Moondust Melon, Pineapple Paradox, Stellarberry Lemonade, and Tropical Orbit—and immediately started collecting medals like they were Pokémon cards. But the real magic? These “social seltzers” are designed for actual socializing. Light, buzzy, hangover-free, and crafted with real fruit, they’re made for people who want to enjoy the moment and wake up ready to tackle the next one.
Anomaly isn’t just another drink. It’s the next frontier of flavor.
From Highest-Rated Stouts to Award-Winning Seltzers
Bottle Logic is known for its intense flavor development. The brewery that brought you the likes of some of the highest-rated stouts in the country—like Fundamental Observation—turned to THC in 2024 because they saw a shift in the market.
Simply put: “People are drinking less,” says Parker. “We wanted to evolve.”
Traveling through Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Ohio, Parker explored the THC beverage market at its source, tasting over thirty brands.
Going back to California, Parker started doing what he does best, exploring and nailing flavor.
Anomaly launched in 2024 with four flavors: Moondust Melon, Pineapple Paradox, Stellarberry Lemonade, and Tropical Orbit.
The THC-seltzer brand quickly gained recognition for its flavor combinations, with each Delta-9 seltzer earning a medal at the 2025 High Spirits Awards, including bronze for Moondust Melon, gold for Stellarberry Lemonade, and a platinum for both Tropical Orbit and Pineapple Paradox.
What Is Anomaly?
Two words: social seltzer.
“As opposed to other drinks, Anomaly is something you want to get together and have with people,” says Anomaly Artist-in-Resdience Joshua Emrich. “And it doesn’t have the same downsides as alcohol in terms of hangovers.”
With either 5mg or 10mg of THC in each can, along with zero alcohol, Anomaly gives you a light buzz without the extra sugar or calories.
Parker recommends that you start small, especially if you’re new to THC-infused seltzers. “Drink it slowly, drink half of it and see how you feel,” he says.
Emrich adds, “This isn’t something that’s going to weigh you down and make you feel awful.”
Instead, Anomaly’s social seltzers are meant to be a grown-up way to enjoy the party, where you don’t have to sit on the sidelines, but you also don’t have to stay in bed the next day.
In fact, Emrich admits seeing who drinks Anomaly is one of the things that surprised him the most.
Initially, Emrich says they thought Anomaly’s core audience would be Gen Zers or folks who wanted to cut down on alcohol. But actually, Anomaly found that they attracted Bottle Logic fans and those of all ages who had been drinking craft beer or wine but wanted a different choice—something that wouldn’t leave them with a hangover so they could get up and work the next day.
“It became more about people who are overachievers, hustling, and working with family and kids,” explains Emrich. “They want to have a good time, but they also want to go to work the next day and be level-headed and engaged as opposed to dealing with a hangover.”
What’s Anomaly’s Vibe?
As the brand artist, Emrich describes Anomaly’s vibe as somewhere between sophisticated sci-fi and punchy pop culture with a whisper of stylish retro.
Building off Bottle Logic’s heavy sci-fi fun, Emrich says they toned it down at Anomaly to more of what he calls “space exploration.”
“Exploration is key for us,” he continues. “We want people to explore flavors, explore sensations.”
This is where the name Anomaly comes into play.
“It sounds like a person’s name, but also something different, something mysterious,” says Emrich.
For Anomaly, setting the tone starts with flavor.
To Infinite Flavor Exploration and Beyond
Flavor is where Anomaly shines brighter than a full moon. And it makes sense. Parker and Bottle Logic have been building flavor foundations for over a decade. In fact, the SoCal brewery has built its name on one-of-a-kind smoothie sours and stunning barrel-aged stouts.
“We do amazing flavor development,” shares Parker. “We’ve been doing it, especially with our barrel-aged beers for the last ten years—that’s something we really excel at.”
That perfect combination of sweet, tart, acid, and spice winds its way into Anomaly’s four punchy Delta-9 social seltzers.
“When you drink an Anomaly, it’s not something that feels watered down or flavor-light,” says Emrich. “It’s flavorful.”
Parker relished the challenge of developing Anomaly’s four flavors, starting with Moondust Melon.
To get each Anomaly seltzer down to fifty calories, Parker says they used monkfruit to “bring out a lot of sweetness and flavor without bringing calories in.”
Similar to Bottle Logic’s own line of hard seltzers, Anomaly’s THC seltzers include three to four percent fruit juice as a base, avoiding artificial flavors.
For instance, Moondust Melon gets an infusion of honeydew and lime concentrates, blended to perfection.
To find that golden ratio, Parker says the Anomaly team bench trialed countless combinations, often tasting through twenty different cups at a time to find the ideal balance.
Afterwards, they dial in the aroma extracts to accompany the flavor they’re trying to perfect.
“From the moment you open the can, you can smell it,” says Parker. “Everything is just extremely bright.”
Like Stellarberry Lemonade, Anomaly’s most popular flavor that combines strawberry fruit with lemonade.
The balance of all those flavors and acidity creates a nostalgic treat.
“I think of when you were a kid, looking forward to the weekends,” says Emrich, noting this flavor is for those who grew up in the era of renting video games or movies from Blockbuster. “You’re done with school, and now you get to play.” Whether that’s out in the sun by the pool or inside playing your favorite video game.
“It’s that little bit of geek pop culture, but the adult version,” says Emrich. “You’ve got kids and a life and all these things going on, but you still want to have those moments where you sit back, relax, and have a good time.”
If Moondust Melon and Stellarberry Lemonade are Anomaly’s core planets, then its following two flavors are like deep-sea discoveries.
And coincidentally, the ones that both earned a platinum at this year’s High Spirits Awards.
Tropical Orbit features passionfruit, a flavor Parker says they’ve nailed at Bottle Logic over the years and could now run sky-high with at Anomaly.
“We found it’s one of the most amazing passionfruit flavors,” he says. “Passionfruit is one of those flavors that you either love or hate, but I love this one.”
To complement Tropical Orbit, Pineapple Paradox gets even a little more out there.
“We wanted this one to be paradoxical,” explains Parker.
Inspired by the iconic White Gummy Bear, Pineapple Paradox gives off a lot of white and yellow peaches and a bit of pineapple.
“It tastes and smells like opening a bag of Gummy Bears,” says Parker. “We wanted that one fruit that was just unusual.”
Emrich adds that this flavor also taps into that ’90s nostalgia where you are all excited to get a bag of Gummy Bears, open it up with your friends or siblings, and “you’re fighting over that White Gummy Bear,” he says, “but [with Anomaly] you get to drink it!”
