In this week’s Hoplinks, a beer café opens its doors, Wisconsin and Michigan breweries keep on growing, and two guys drink a very good beer very quickly.

Check out these Hoplinks and more as you enjoy the July 4th holiday weekend and let us know what we missed in the comments!

We recently had the opportunity to explore Lakeview’s new Beermiscuous and this great write-up from the Reader pretty much summarizes our thoughts. Really a unique concept in an industry where it’s getting harder to do so.

Wisconsin’s New Glarus Brewing has just debuted the first beers from their new wild fruit cave. The critically acclaimed sours will soon be available across the state so grab a ride and head north!

If you’re in Chicago for the holiday weekend and looking for a place to enjoy the weather, try this list of the best rooftop drinking spots on for size.

John Bittermann, craft beer connoisseur and collector (and a fan of The Hop Review we might add), is presenting the history of Joliet, Illinois’ brewery buildings on July 17th. Congrats to John and if architecture and beer is your thing, be sure to check out his event!

Founders, one of our favourite Michigan breweries, is doubling in size! The already fast growing brewery will increase their capacity to 600,000 barrels by spring 2015.

If you have yet to see the new web series, Just Keep Tastin’, do yourself a favour and check it out. The Chicago brewers review beers by sampling them in mass quantities. Always entertaining. Check out their latest review below!
