As the craft beer world starts to turn its focus away from those light summer beers and toward more fall inspired libations (ugh, pumpkin), there’s still a lot to catch up on as we wind down these final weeks of August.

Michigan’s ever expanding HopCat line of bars has announced their Detroit location’s opening date and record breaking tap takeover with Short’s Brewing. November 15th will feature 101 beers from the Northern Michigan brewery, breaking the previous record of 100 set last year at HopCat East Lansing.

Canadian company Lean Machine plans to market an after-workout beer. They plan to lower the alcohol content and add salt… any takers?
