ST. LOUIS, MO

Saint Louis brewery, Urban Chestnut, has a flair for the old world. They describe themselves as an “unconventional-minded yet tradition-oriented brewer of craft beer—a ‘new world meets old world’ brewing approach wherein UCBCcontributes to the ‘revolution’ of craft beer with artisanal creations of modern American beers, and pays ‘reverence’ to the heritage of beer with classically-crafted offerings of timeless European beer styles.”

It’s a mouthful, but it’s honest in its nod to European style brewing. And that’s a refreshing bit of transparency in a world where it seems so many are brewing the novelty, or the “hoppier-the-better.”

So true is the approach to the Urban Chestnut branding. From the Bavarian style biergarten and environmental design, to the badge logo and distinctly-shaped bottles. Designed by St. Louis based design firm, Marketing28, the UCBC identity plays up a distinct color palette to differentiate itself from the many other ubiquitous craft beer packages out there.

With that burnt orange and aqua badge as the brand’s centerpiece, there’s no mistaking Urban Chestnut on the shelf.
