This weekend’s planned Chicago Ale Fest has been cancelled. The event’s organizers cited bad weather (unlikely) and financial concerns (likely) as reasons for the cancellation. Anyone who bought tickets will be entitled to a full refund.

Michigan’s Journeyman Distillery is a finalist for the Martha Stewart American Made Competition. Vote between now and October 13th and help bring some much deserved recognition to one of the country’s best distilleries.

Northbrook’s Only Child Brewing Company has plans to open a tasting room in their home town. Unfortunately, the brewery just concluded an Indiegogo campaign that fell well short of their goal. Let’s hope they can still find the means to make this work!

3 Floyds announced that they will stop bottling Pride and Joy and replace it with their new session IPA, Yum Yum. One of the three original beers from 3 Floyds, Pride and Joy fans can rest easy as it will still be distributed in kegs.
