The Juicy Brews Beer Fest started with a name.
Dave, our Director of Marketing (AKA the Hashtag Guru), has a well-documented love affair with hazy IPAs. If it looks like orange juice, he’s in. Over some hoppy beers at the end of last summer, Dave pitched the idea that, instead of throwing a well-rounded beer fest, we should just be honest with ourselves and throw the type of beer festival we’d want to attend. He wanted to call it Juicy Brews.
So we plotted. We decided to focus on the juicy, hazy IPAs and fruit-forward sours we love to drink. And we didn’t want small samples, and we didn’t want crowds, or bad food. We wanted to throw a party, with unlimited pours of juicy beer, great tunes, and some dope pizza to balance it all out. We wanted to give drinkers the opportunity to meet their favorite brewers. A few months later, the first Juicy Brews kicked off in Pittsburgh, in two sessions of 250 people each. Thankfully, there wasn’t a pretzel necklace in sight.
We weren’t even done kicking out the stragglers at Juicy Brews Pittsburgh before we started getting a list together for Juicy Brews Round Two. A bigger venue. More breweries. More beer. More people. We wanted to turn the juice up to 11.
On December 3rd, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we’ll be hosting Juicy Brews NYC. Three sessions. 300 people per session. 18 breweries. Enough hops to strip the enamel off your teeth.
